Plan your Biblical Adventure
You are invited to join the third (2017-2018) Disciple small group study (minimum 8, maximum15 participants) at UCiM. Our next Disciple group launch will be August 31, 2017. The deadline for registering for that series is 12:00 noon, Thursday August 3, 2017. Please signal your interest to Gordon Taylor or Andrea Hurst, and indicate whether Wednesday evening or Thursday evening is preferable for you.
This small group experience is rich in exploration, discussion, discovery and friendship. Thanks to a superb schedule of daily readings participants achieve a significant accomplishment – reading virtually the whole Bible over a 9 month period.
Participants (limit 15)
· approach The Bible as a team,
· meet weekly to view world class video commentaries, and share insights, express doubts, offer differences,
· practice prayer and journaling, and
· grow in spiritual confidence in a community that experiences laughter, loyalty, deepened life and love.
Yes, it is a commitment – but many of us have learned that it takes a group to read the whole Bible – it is too much to do alone.
Yes, it takes a bit of discipline – but group members help each other to keep moving forward.
Yes, it takes some time – about 30 minutes of reading 6 days a week; and one 2.5 hour group gathering each week; for 34 weeks.
Yes, there will be days when a member cannot attend – the goal is to limit absences to 4.
Yes, there is a cost – $80, for study materials, handouts, and graduation gifts. This is the cheapest University level course (U of W, Certificate) you’ll ever take.
One former member said, “I don’t know what I gave up to do the Disciple program … but I don’t feel I missed anything. In fact, I would come home from meetings completely re-energized.”
Is this the year the Spirit calls you to encounter the Word in community?
