Here Comes The Sun – Wasaga Women’s Weekend

Camp Wasaga at Clear Lake, Onanole, MB

June 3-5, 2016

Facilitator: Rev. Ha Na Park, United Church in Meadowood

The book and philosophy that so empowered Ha Na to follow her calling was written by a thought-provoking Korean feminist, Chung Hyun Kyung: Struggle to be the Sun Again: Introducing Asian Women’s Theology.
We will explore how to ascend from patriarchy and fear, striving toward the wind and the sun within. Ha Na’s inspiration originated from a poem: “In the beginning, woman was truly the sun. An authentic person. Now she is the moon … reflecting another’s brilliance.” As we learn how fear can be a wise teacher, we may discover (or re-discover) the true “sun-ness” in our selves!

Women have been recreating and refreshing themselves at Camp Wasaga annually for 35 + years.
The weekend encourages connection and sharing, providing a safe place for healing, understanding and growth. Our workshops empower women to honour their uniqueness, develop leadership qualities, and make a difference! We laugh, sing, and have fun! Please join us for another amazing weekend!
