Interpreting Whispers Is Back
Led by Rev Ha Na Park
Our Thursday Morning Bible Study resumes on Sept 17!
Each Thursday morning, at 10 am, we will strive to enrich our faith by studying the scripture readings that are assigned for each Sunday and also by exploring the central practices of Christian faith, why they are important, and how we can take part in them TODAY, following our new curriculum Animate: Practices Journal.
You are very welcome to check out this small journal booklet on display at church office to see if the exploration of faith of our new season meets your spiritual needs. Between Sept. and Dec., we will discuss the following parts of the booklet:
- Sep – Oct Prayer / Oriented toward God, Brian McLaren
- Nov Food / Eating with Jesus, Sara Miles
- Dec Worship / seeking God’s presence, Mike Slaughter
For further info or to register, please talk with Ha Na or call the church office.
Comment from 2015 participant…
“I lost my desire for regular attendance at Church during my Globetrotting years during the Vietnam War. Several times in my life, I tried to reconnect by reading the Bible in chronological order or browsing but each time, I failed. An unexpected and shocking event made me call the Church for help and the suggestion was that I would attend the Bible Study Group “Interpreting Whispers”. It has worked out much better than I had expected. The time of one hour is short but the small group compensates so that each of us gets an opportunity to express thoughts and perception. What was even more astonishing is that I found my desire to attend Sunday Service on a regular basis again.”

“Interpreting Whispers, in addition to Sunday worship, is just what I needed to learn about a reading of the scriptures that has meaning for my life in a modern context.”
“The Interpreting Whispers sessions were a new experience for me, as I had never explored the Bible before! It was such an open, receptive group which brought exciting insight into the scriptures!”
“I found that each time I attended the Bible study, I was giving myself the opportunity to experience the present moment and to connect with God. Normally this is difficult to do during the hustle and bustle of a regular day.”
“I like the size of the small group gathering, it provides a more comfortable/intimate environment for us. I learned that there are many different ways to ‘interpret’ our thoughts/perceptions/feelings.”
