The upcoming Pastoral Care Committee Workshop entitled: “Do It Yourself Toolbox for Effective Conversations” – What to say and what not to say When you don’t know what to say! will be held on Sat, April 30 (9:30 to 12Noon). Light refreshments will be offered.
Our speaker will be Dr Eveline Milliken MSW, RSW, PHD, who teaches Clinical Communication Skills in the Faculty of Social Work, U of M.
Have you ever had to talk to someone about a difficult subject but didn’t know what to say, for fear of saying the wrong thing, so you just said nothing at all and then felt guilty for doing that? Have you ever said the wrong thing and experienced the sadness or wrath of the one you are talking to? Are there places you avoid going, the hospital, nursing home, funeral home? This is the workshop for you!!
Please consider attending this Workshop to learn the “ins” and “outs” of this common experience, which many people find difficult.
This workshop will be beneficial for everyone. Please plan to attend and register at email@example.com. or call the church office 204-256-7002.
