At Children’s Church, we have created an environment that is, safe, fun and engaging for our children.
A child’s journey begins at Baptism with the Cradle Roll. As friends and members of Meadowood bring their little ones to be baptized, we celebrate by placing a lamb on the Cradle Roll Board to commemorate the day. When the child reaches the age of three, we invite him or her to join Children’s Church.
Through the Spark Rotation Curriculum, we spend 4 to 6 weeks per session digging deep into favorite Bible stories. Children’s Church happens during the worship service. We begin with a large group, where we will sing a song, talk about the story, pass the offering basket, take attendance and spend a moment in prayer. We then break into groups and each class goes off to their stations, where the children learn about the story through games, drama, arts and crafts, music, science and cooking and baking. Our group of leaders are fun, helpful, and love spending time with our kids. For more information on our curriculum resources, please visit this link.
We endeavor to be a Children’s Church that is active in worship and in our community. We have opportunities for All Ages worship services where the children stay for the service and actively participate in worship. We also participate in Communion monthly, with children partaking of Communion at the open table, and there are always some children helping to serve as well. We participate in the community through helping with the Fall Supper, collecting socks for the homeless in Socktober and sharing our work through bulletin board displays. There are many more opportunities to participate in community events throughout the year as well.
