One of the ways that Christians have gathered and cared for one another is in groups that come together to support one another. Such opportunities of fellowship makes space to share joys and grief, celebrations and loss.

The United Church Women are a group that strives to unite women of the congregation for the total mission of the church and to provide a medium through which we may express our loyalty and devotion to Jesus Christ in Christian witness, study, fellowship and service. The UCW holds meetings monthly on the third Monday of the month. The UCW ladies are an active part of our congregation, often helping out at fellowship events throughout the year, making and serving food for the Mother’s Day Tea, funerals, baptisms and fundraisers. At UCW meetings, there will often be a presentation by community members sharing stories and good news about programs within the larger community of South St. Vital and Winnipeg.

The UCiM Handiwork Group meets every second Thursday afternoon to knit, embroider, crochet and craft. We make the prayer shawls that are handed to those being baptised at UCiM, as well as given to UCiM members or adherents who have been going through a bereavement or illness. In 2014, we presented a total of 38 shawls.
The fourth Tuesday of the month is Senior’s Lunch at Meadowood for seniors and retirees in our community. The menu varies from month to month and these are a great opportunity to mingle and get caught up with friends.
The UCiM Book Club is a small group that meets the first Tuesday of each month to pray, share joys and sorrows and share a love of reading. Books are chosen by the members of the group and hosted in members homes.
Good News at UCiM!
