Talking Teens

“I didn’t come to UCiM as a youth minister. But as soon as I began working within UCiM, I immediately fell in love with youth ministry. The truth is, I’ve really fallen in love with our youth!”

Rev Ha Na Park

UCiM’s youth group, Talking Teens, may not always be ready to sit down and talk, but they sure do laugh and enjoy themselves! This group of youth are very responsible, compassionate and creative, and keen to learn about social needs and justice. They have an amazing ability to identify their spiritual gifts, and they are willing to use those gifts to make a better world. God really loves them, and UCiM loves their enthusiasm!

Last year, Talking Teens had so many great activities grouped around two different themes: The Instagram Project and  Food is Sacred.
Our growing relationships with each other and the Holy One have been quite amazing. They were made even more wonderful thanks to the dedication, hard work and creativity of Erica and our other helpers. Here are some highlights from the past year:

In addition, UCiM was very pleased and excited to have nine youth complete a Youth Confirmation Class in April, joining our faith community with full membership by Confirmation and Baptism (Two youths were baptized). Thanks again to all those who became mentors/sponsors for our youth.
