Worship is at the heart of Christian life. It is where we demonstrate worth-ship – of the love of God in Christ Jesus for Christ’s people (not just the Church, but all of us!) and Creation. It is where we find our bearings and regain our footings.
Worship is at the heart of UCiM. That is where we connect – with our deeper selves, with each other, with the widening world, with the God whom we meet in Jesus, with the Kin_dom that God is growing. In other words: Welcome home.
In Biblical community – the heart is inclusive. That is where mind and soul, emotion and body are integrated. Bring your brain – science and spirituality will meet. Bring your doubts, your questions, your excitement, your sense of humour, your hungers, and your tears. Expect to be comforted and moved, literally! Your whole being will be addressed, challenged, and fed at UCiM!
Find worship that is E.P.I.C. – Experiential. Participatory. Image-rich. Communal. Enjoy a cup of coffee before (during!) or after worship. Meet neighbours and new friends. Enjoy silences.
Come as you are.
No dress code – just be respectful.
No pre-requisites – you don’t have to know anything first.
No pressure – no spiritual discipline is of any value if compelled.
No cost – while an offering is gathered, you are not required to give. That’s part of grace.
Expect to be affirmed. As the 100th Affirming Congregation of the United Church of Canada, our worship seeks to be respectful of all people, regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation or identity, economic, ethnic, or social characteristic. Our facilities are scent-free, wheel chair accessible, hearing assisted, and use projection in discreet ways to enable fullest participation.
Children and youth never know what memorable activity (wading pools, maple syrup, clown noses, headstands, egg-relays …) Rev. Gord and Rev. Ha Na will cook up in the first part of worship to help us all learn a Biblical truth. Young people participate in the liturgy: lighting candles, singing, praying, reading, baptism (bi-monthly), and receiving and sharing communion (1st Sunday of each month). As adults continue in worship, young people head to CHILDREN’S CHURCH or TALKING TEENS.
Our musical leader – Chad Muir (Director), choir and vocalists are committed to lifting the hearts of the congregation in song, supporting the Word, and getting us moving with a rare combination of classical skills and jazz chops!
Still have questions? Why not phone us and ask them! 204-256-7002. We look forward to seeing you this Sunday. You are invited!
