About The United Church in Meadowood
UCiM is a place with great energy. Many exciting things happen inside our building and in our community.
The United Church in Meadowood is a member of the United Church of Canada. You can learn more about the UCC and the wider church here.
We are an affirming congregation, the 100th congregation to join Affirm United; a proud partner of The United Church of Canada for the support of all gender identities and sexual orientations. You can learn more about Affirm United and their work here.
UCiM welcomes a diverse mix of families for worship and our community programs. There are just under 500 families who call UCiM home, with about 100 people attending on Sundays, while others watch our online services at home.
Our worship style is open and engaging with inclusive language use and is available to attend in person or watch online.
We reflect the spirit of the United Church using a balance of traditional and new creative methods. Music is an integral part of our regular worship, and we sing a mix of favourite and new songs, as well as occasionally incorporating new music styles or instruments, like our new Boomwhacker choir!
Communion is typically held on the first Sunday of every month with Baptisms held usually three or four times a year. Congregants are invited to be involved during worship as scripture readers, candle lighters, and during special services throughout the year.
Our Mission Vision and Values
Our mission is: To share the abundant life of Jesus.
Our vision is: As an inclusive, intercultural faith community, to engage South Winnipeg, growing in spiritual understanding and compassionate service.
The values that shape us are: gratitude, caring, curiosity and courage.
Come in, and see.
Whoever you are, just as you are, God loves you, no exceptions.
Our Logo
The cross in the logo represents the relationship with Christ. The fellowship of the church is represented by outstretched (supporting) arms. The arms also represent the service to our community and throughout the world.
