The United Church in Meadowood

Adult Groups

We have many programs for adults at the United Church in Meadowood. Our goal is to provide all adults the opportunity to grow spiritually, and connect with our community outside the church. Such opportunities of fellowship make space to share joys and grief, celebrations and loss. All are welcome to take part in our programs, you don’t need to be a member to join in!

All of our programs and  events are listed on our Calendar page

United Church Women

The United Church Women are a group that strives to unite women of the congregation for the total mission of the church and to provide a medium through which we may express our loyalty and devotion to Jesus Christ in Christian witness, study, fellowship and service. The UCW holds meetings monthly on the third Monday of the month. The United Church Women are an active part of our congregation, often helping out at fellowship events throughout the year, making and serving food for the Mother's Day Tea and funerals.  At UCW meetings, there will often be a presentation by community members sharing stories and good news about programs within and beyond our community of South St. Vital and Winnipeg.

Mens Group

The UCiM Men's Group meets for fellowship, education and service by breaking bread together and conducting business to support our church and the wider community.  We meet the fourth Thursday of the month. The Men's Group hosts several dinner meetings, pancake breakfasts, supports West Broadway Community Ministry and hosts the Annual Mother's Day Tea.

Gardening Group

Our dedicated gardeners grow a wide variety of vegetables every summer and deliver the abundant harvest to different organizations (West Broadway Community Ministry, Marlene Street Resource Centre, Alpha House and Teen Stop Jeunesse).

Memorial Fund

The Memorial fund accepts contributions made by individuals or groups in memory of deceased members or non members of The United Church in Meadowood and to provide or help provide for the beautification and improvement of our church.  Some of the past projects of the Memorial Fund are: potted plants on Easter Sunday, plants for the beautification of the church grounds, candle holders, plant holders, Children's Church bulletin board displays, furniture in the McAskill Room.

Adult Study

The United Church in Meadowood offers a variety of learning opportunities for our members and adherents to learn and grow with God. A variety of Bible and book studies are offered throughout the year. Our most recent study was a Zoom study of "The Skin We're In" by Desmond Cole.

UCiM Library

Please feel free to come in and browse our collection. We have Bible reference books, adult literature, movies, children's books and more! Our library is growing all the time as we add more titles on a regular basis and our librarians work hard to keep everything tidy and organized. Everyone is free to borrow books, please bring them back in a couple of weeks.
