Our Beliefs
The United Church Creed

At UCiM, to know what we do is to know what we believe.
We are not a dogmatic church and embrace a range of theologies and spiritual experience.
We do, however, have a sense of calling, something described for us in the United Church Creed.
to celebrate God’s presence,
to live with respect in Creation,
to love and serve others,
to seek justice and resist evil,
to proclaim Jesus,
crucified and risen,
our judge and our hope.


Immediate Priorities
We believe that we must act to make a difference in relation to the urgencies in our world and community today.
Living with respect in Creation, loving and serving others, and seeking justice in these times, has led us to the priorities below. They show up in our worship, our educational programs and our congregational decision-making.

Faith & the Bible
The Bible is the shared standard for our faith, but members are not required to adhere to any particular creed or formulation of doctrine.
Baptism & Communion
The United Church celebrates two sacraments -- baptism and communion -- by which we encounter the presence and goodness of God.
Marriage
Each person is unique, love creation of God; we welcome all people to the full life of Christian community, including marriage.
Giving, Generosity & Gratitude
God's endless generosity to us encourages our own response to contribute in many ways to God's mission in God's world
Relationship & Inclusion
Respectful of the religious practice of all people of goodwill, we are a welcoming church that is challenged to ongoing renewal.
