Children’s Church

Rooted in Faith, Growing in Love

At UCiM’s Children’s Church, we have created an environment that is safe, fun and engaging for all children.

Children’s Church is offered every Sunday from early September to the middle of June, except for long weekend Sunday’s and during winter and spring break. When Children’s Church is not offered, we host All Ages worship services, in which families and children and others are encouraged to actively interact.

Children’s Church begins right at 10:30, with children checking in at their classrooms, hanging up coats, and then Children’s Church leaders bring all the children to the Fellowship Hall for a short greeting, message and song. Children then go back to their classrooms where they engage in all sorts of fun stories, games, crafts and other activities that focus on the week’s Bible Story.

On the first Sunday of the month, we participate in Communion, with children serving and partaking of Communion at our “open table”.

During the year, our Children’s Church kids participate in the church community through various events. Our Advent concert will be held on December 1st, 2019, and is a highlight of the year. In the spring, the kids gather in worship to share a song with the congregation. In June, we have our Annual Picnic and Pride Parade, with lot’s of fun, food and games to end the Children’s Church Year. We also share our work through the year with fun and creative bulletin board displays in the Fellowship Hall.

Currently, we have 4 Children’s Church classes:

Our Children’s Church leaders are fun, helpful and love spending time with our kids.To guide our leaders, we use the Spark Lectionary Curriculum, children learn the same story that the congregation explores during worship.

A main priority for Children’s Church is providing a safe and engaging environment for your children. Part of that commitment is realized through our Duty of Care policy. All of our leaders take part in a volunteer screening and training process to ensure that we are providing the highest standard of safety for your children at UCiM.

We are so excited to welcome your family to our Children’s Church!

Continuing Opportunities

Once a child has reached the age where they would like to move beyond Children’s Church, we offer the Talking Teens program, as well as Youth Confirmation Opportunities.

And the People Said

a very beautiful and profound service …

It touched me very deeply

in a way that I can’t explain with any clarity.

All I can say it was a deep and exquisite experience.
