Worship at UCiM

Worship at The United Church in Meadowood (UCiM) is engaging and meaningful. Our Minister both challenges and comforts us. With leadership from our Choir and Music Director, we sing with gusto! Committed to inclusion and diversity, our worship conveys God’s love and grace.

We also record and stream our worship and have viewers as far away as Kenya! You would find it easy to access our Live worship services online but we do hope you will come and check us out in person. If you haven’t been here before, we can help you know what to expect.

Our Story

1979

A small group began to meet for worship in the music room of Dr. DW Penner School

1982

Our first minister, Loraine MacAskill, had her office in a store front on Meadowood

1989

We met for worship in the current building for the first time!

2013

We became an Affirming congregation

2020

Caryn Douglas became our minister

2024

In hope & faithfulness, we installed a geothermal heat pump

Leadership & Governance

At UCiM, we elect a Board of leaders from our membership each year. Together with the Minister and as needed, they make necessary decisions between annual meetings.

With the rest of us, they volunteer to take care of the property, provide activities for kids, visit the sick, work in the AV booth and welcome you at the door.

Christian Education Coordinator

Part-time Position

The United Church in Meadowood (UCiM) is seeking a Christian Education (CE) Coordinator to fill a part-time, 14 hours/week, position. We are an active, welcoming and diverse group of people within an affirming, inclusive, seven-day-a-week church working to make a difference in our wider community. At UCiM there’s something for everyone, no matter the age.

The Christian Education (CE) Coordinator is someone who demonstrates a strong personal Christian faith that upholds the beliefs and values of the United Church of Canada. The prime responsibility is to coordinate faith-based programming and activities for children and youth, and encourage family participation in them. The Coordinator is accountable to the Ministry & Personnel Committee, and works in collaboration with the Minister, Christian Education Committee, UCiM Staff and volunteers.

Facility Rentals

Our church building is flexible and has many amenities. When walls are moved and furnishings re-arranged, we can accommodate 500 people at one time.
